Google WEB Vitals – a new reality of quality

Google WEB Vitals – a new reality of quality

Today, obtaining information has become easier than ever. This is neither good nor bad – it’s just a fact that creates new trends in its presentation. Trends that advertisers, editors, journalists, writers and … of course, with the help of Google, anyone who is thinking of creating a web product, or is engaged in the same creation directly. Another update to Google is the new tools for assessing the quality of WEB Vitals websites. Three new metrics that allow you to understand what problems the user will face when contacting any site. So : LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) – measures the loading time of the visible part of the page screen. The new standard is no more than 2.5 seconds to load the page. FID (First input delay) – a metric of interactive user interaction with the site. (100 to 300 milliseconds!) CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) – a metric for the stability of site content. The lower this figure, the better. When we talk about stability – we are talking about the lack of various pop-ups, timely loading of content and so on.   In the video below, my team and I analyze the work of new tools, test our site, draw the right conclusions and already think of new standards.

The importance of the new metrics is that from next year they will influence the position of sites in search engines. And in 2021, Google plans to release a tool that can be integrated into websites and receive data about downloading the site directly from users, which should contribute to a broader understanding of how the site is loaded by a particular user. According to the information gathered, each website will get its place in the Google search bar.
