About the project
Development of an adult online store on Shopify, migration from WordPress to Shopify and creation of a store template for potential stores.
Project overview
We were tasked with building a full-featured online store from scratch for the Norwegian adult eCommerce market. The project included:
— Migrating the client’s content and store management from WordPress to Shopify.
— Developing a master store template that can be reused for 10+ other client stores with other products in the future.
— Ensuring the template works fully with block variations and even if certain apps (wishlist, reviews) are disabled.
— Adapting the design provided by the client.
— Front-end development and coding of the site.
— Full Shopify integration.
— Setting up Shopify apps, loyalty programs, and review systems.
— Testing and quality assurance.
Migration from WordPress to Shopify
Moving from WordPress to Shopify is always a strategic step for growing an online store. WordPress is great for blogs or informational websites, but when it comes to scaling worldwide sales and managing products, Shopify offers much more flexibility and tools as all-in-one commerce platform.
The process starts with analyzing existing content: which products, categories, and pages need to be migrated. Next, data is exported from WordPress and imported into Shopify, taking into account the store structure and SEO settings. At the same time, the store’s design and functionality are set up: payment systems, shipping options, and marketing tools are integrated. The final stage is testing all processes and launching the fully operational Shopify store.
Template store development for scaling to 10+ different online stores
We developed a universal Shopify store template for the client that can be reused multiple times to launch new online stores with different products in different countries.
Creating a core store setup on Shopify allows for quick adaptation to different products, markets, and localisations: languages, currencies, and shipping options can be changed, while the core structure and functionality (if needed) remain the same.
Design and functionality
During the project, we faced a challenge where the initial scope of work significantly increased: the client’s designer added several new blocks and variations that were not included in the original technical task and project estimate.
We adapted quickly to the changes and updated our workflow. Thanks to clear project management system, all additional elements were implemented to a high standard and delivered to the client on time. This experience showed that even when the design isn’t created by our team, we can take on the task and deliver results without delays.
Product catalog, categories, and product page
Each category in the Livetleker product catalog has clear navigation, allowing users to find the products they need really quickly. We also added brand filters, making it easier to browse over 100 popular adult toy brands.
The product page is designed in a minimalist style with a focus on user convenience. Every product includes a detailed description, technical specifications, and customer reviews to help shoppers make informed decisions. Large images and clear buttons are used to make browsing and purchasing fast and intuitive.
My account (Login)
Registered users can view their order history, track delivery status, and save favourite products or settings. When placing a repeat order, they don’t need to re-enter their address or payment details, which improves both convenience and conversion. Shopify makes this especially easy because the “My Account” section is built-in, with a ready-to-use user management system.
Solutions for adult store
