A pharmacist from Canada set out to rethink the rules of skincare by creating a premium cosmetics brand — Maison des Elites. The brand’s mission is simple but powerful: push the beauty industry forward while staying true to nature.
About the project
Shopify online store built for a premium cosmetics brand in partnership with the design agency League Design.
Project overview:
We were tasked with building a full-featured online store from scratch for a premium cosmetics brand that has no physical retail locations. Key aspects of the project included:
— Choosing the optimal eCommerce platform for a luxury brand means selecting one with the flexibility, scalability, and features to match high-end expectations — in this case, Shopify
— Translating the visual concept from League Design Agency into a fully functional, responsive Shopify store that reflects the brand’s premium aesthetic.
— Shopify integration.
— Bilingual setup. Supporting English and French, including localized content, navigation, and checkout flows;
— Setting up a loyalty program and customer feedback functionality to enhance engagement and repeat purchases;
— Creating seamless page transitions, block appearances, and micro-interactions.
The brand and project evolved continuously during development, with solutions being iteratively improved in close collaboration with our project manager. After the official launch, our team continued to provide technical support and gradually rolling out additional eCommerce features to support the brand’s long-term growth strategy.
Design and functionality
- The site design, created by League Design Agency, fully reflects the premium status of Maison des Elites, embodying the concept of a “home” for luxurious skincare.
- The main color palette features soft, light gold-sand tones, with buttons and graphic accents in gold, while product card backgrounds use deep burgundy or rich chocolate shades, highlighting elegance and warmth.
- Entering the website feels like stepping into a luxury residence: the homepage acts as the front door, opening the way to a unique, immersive experience. Each subsequent page is like a new room, where visitors can explore the company’s story, discover unique products, or learn more about the brand’s heritage.
- The main visual hook is the front door opening, which smoothly transitions into an animation of moving through the rooms, each showcasing its own artifacts and brand stories.
Preloader
The animated opening of the “Maison des Elites” estate acts as a visual metaphor for stepping into a space of luxury, care, and expertly crafted skincare. Smooth motion, soft shadows, and gold-black tones create a sense of anticipation for something truly exceptional — just like the brand itself.
The preloader isn’t just aesthetic. It’s functional. While the animation plays, the site loads its main resources in the background, so once the animation ends, users get immediate, seamless access to the full content.
Other key animations include:
- Smooth transitions between rooms through arches;
- Horizontal scrolling that simulates walking through the house, passing arches and walls, creating a feeling of presence and depth.
Skincare catalogue & product categories
- The Maison des Elites catalogue is designed to stay visually elegant while being easy to navigate.
- We implemented category filtering (masks, serums, cleansers, etc.) without overloading the user visually. Products are shown in a compact preview, allowing users to smoothly “dive into” the item they select.
- This approach keeps the page minimalist while giving full access to the entire product range.
Product page
When designing the product page, the League Design team drew inspiration from top luxury cosmetics brands but added features often missing even in major eCommerce players.
The page the team created:
— looks premium and minimalist;
— includes all key information (ingredients, FAQ, reviews);
— lets users select size or product variations;
— features a responsive product photo gallery;
— provides smooth navigation to the Cart and Shop now & Pay later options.
All of this is enhanced by subtle animations that reinforce the brand’s premium vibe.
About us page
Instead of the typical “About us” title, the brand introduces itself through the concept of a home: “House rules”. This is a visual and emotional gateway into the Maison des Elites world.
Rather than a standard corporate story, the page unfolds like cinematic episodes from the brand’s life: from its values and vision to its partnership with UNICEF. The design plays with light and shadow, refined typography, and delicate animations, making the experience immersive.
It’s not just an informational page — it’s a space that wins you over emotionally.
Blog
The Maison des Elites website features a blog designed to serve multiple purposes:
— guiding customers through product selection and skincare routines.
— sharing news, product launches, brand events, charitable initiatives, and partnerships.
— driving organic traffic with content crafted for strong SEO performance.
In the luxury cosmetics segment, most leading brands maintain extensive blogs, so launching this section ensures Maison des Elites stays competitive. Looking ahead, the brand plans to expand it with tutorials, ambassador reviews, event recaps, and expert interviews — turning the blog into a key touchpoint for customer engagement and brand storytelling.

This page gives customers access to their personal information, order history, and saved preferences. Plus, it builds customer loyalty by providing convenience and personalized offers based on their data. Overall, a well-designed account page encourages repeat purchases and strengthens trust in the store.
